The Good Times Band formally releases two new recordings for June, 2001. Since the Kick In The Brass and Family Christmas Album recordings in 1999, The Good Times Band has been working on the concept and materials for two new compilations. The results are the following recordings.

Because of the great success of our previous polka recordings, we thought it only natural to create a recording with some more original songs as well as a few old standards. Little Bitty Tear Polka is a song about the emotional impact one feels when the children are grown and raising their own families. Farewell My Good Friend Polka is a song about the loss of a good friend and how theyll never be forgotten. The initial lyrics were begun upon learning of the passing of Zip Lubovinsky, polka promoter from western Pennsylvania. While in the midst of finishing the words, we learned of the tragic deaths of Tom Karas and John Stabinsky, fellow musicians from the Jan Lewan Band. In addition, the deaths of Richard Towalski, The Polka General and Wicked Wanda Betke, a wonderful, generous fan, served as striking reminders of how fragile our lives can be. We dedicate this song to the memories of all our lost friends. So Long, So Long Polka is a goodbye song from The Good Times Band to our fans. After thirty wonderful years of entertaining the polka public, we want our fans to know how much we appreciate their support and friendship. It is with great sadness we announce our impending breakup on January 6th, 2002. Hopefully, our music lives on.

During the past few years, The Good Times Band has performed for quite a number of churches in the Chicago area. Since many of our fans have requested a recording featuring the songs we play in church, we felt compelled to produce our Polka Mass recording. This recording recreates an entire Mass as conducted by Father Jim.
